Students Enter PTA Art Competition

Every year students from the Robbinsville School District participate in the PTA Reflections Program, a national arts program created to encourage students to explore and express their creativity.

The Robbinsville K-8 PTA and Robbinsville High School PTSA entered 99 pieces of art work ranging from Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Musical Composition, Film/Video and Special Artist.  Students created art work to reflect their interpretation of this year’s theme, “The Magic of a Moment”.

Art pieces are judged at the local level with select pieces advancing on to county, state, and then finally the national level. Local professional experts judged Robbinsville Reflections art pieces on Nov. 18 at the Robbinsville Senior Center.  Program rules require the judges be neutral.

Mercer County winners are expected to be announced in January and state winners in March, when awards of Merit, Excellence, and Special Artist are distinguished. The National PTA awards are held in June.  Robbinsville has had quite a track record for the past several years. Many Robbinsville students have been awarded at both the local and county levels and several have gone on to win at the state level. Robbinsville has also represented NJ in multiple national art categories.
